Painted Monasteries of Bucovina

Dragomirna Monastery is a fortified monastic complex built between 1602 and 1609 in the village of Mitocu Dragomirnei, Suceava County, by Anastasie Crimca, the Metropolitan of Moldavia.

Voronet Monastery, dubbed the "Sistine Chapel of the East," is a medieval monastic complex built in the village of Voroneț, now a district of the town of Gura Humorului (Suceava County). It is one of the most valuable foundations of Stephen the Great (1457–1504). The church was erected in 1488 in just three months and three weeks.

Moldovita Monastery is one of the ancient monastic settlements with an important and glorious historical past. For centuries, it has stood as a guardian at the border of northern Moldova, located in the commune of Vatra Moldoviței, approximately 15 km from the commune of Vama (Suceava County).

Sucevița Monastery is located 18 km from Rădăuți (Suceava County). It is inscribed on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list. Tradition places a wooden church and a hermitage in the Sucevița river valley, nestled between the hills, dating back to the beginning of the 16th century.

Putna Monastery is an Orthodox monastic settlement and one of the most important Romanian cultural, religious, and artistic centers. It was nicknamed the "Jerusalem of the Romanian People" by Mihai Eminescu. The monastery is located 33 km northwest of the town of Rădăuți (Suceava County).

Humor Monastery is an Orthodox monastery built in 1530 in the village of Mănăstirea Humorului, within the commune of the same name (Suceava County), by the High Chancellor Toader Bubuiog.

Saint John the New Monastery is an Orthodox monastery built between 1514 and 1522 in the city of Suceava. It is located at 2 Ion Vodă Viteazul Street, near the Seat Fortress of Suceava.

Bogdana Monastery is an Orthodox monastery for monks located in the municipality of Rădăuți (Suceava County), at 4-6 Bogdan Vodă Street. The monastery church was founded by Voivode Bogdan I (1359-1365), the founder of the Moldavian feudal state, and served as a royal necropolis.

Slatina Monastery is an Orthodox monastery built between 1553 and 1564 in the village of Slatina (Slatina commune, Suceava County) by Prince Alexandru Lăpușneanu. Slatina Monastery served as a royal necropolis of Moldavia (1522–1677); it houses the tombs of Prince Alexandru Lăpușneanu, Lady Ruxandra (daughter of Petru Rareș), and their two daughters.
